Four Fil-Ams making a name for themselves as YouTube stars

Do you love watching videos on YouTube? If yes, you might have come across these four Fil-American YouTubers.

Meet Kirby Asunto, Jared Martin, Alyssa Jade Shoemaker, and Angel Ram, who, judging from this video by GMA Pinoy TV, are all born to perform in front of the camera.

"I sing a lot for like all the events like Popcom, the Philippine Fiesta, the PDOC," said Shoamaker.

Asunto, meanwhile, will be remembered as the girl who sang the Philippine national anthem during Manny Pacquiao's fight with Timothy Bradley in June 2012 in Nevada.

"My family and I migrated here (US) when I was eight years old and it was a big change for me because a lot of my friends were back in Manila," she said.

Ram, meanwhile, is a professional singer, having performed in New York and New Jersey, as well as Connecticut.

"It's tough, it's really difficult, but just keep your feet on the ground and have faith in God everything will just fall in place," she said.

Martin, who has a Masters in Music Education, said despite being born in the US, he grew up "in the Filipino culture" where everyone tries to entertain everyone else.

"My mother and my father, they're both supportive of me, being a performer ever since high school," he said of his Filipino parents.

"They're the ones who encourage me to pursue music in college and even now my wife is very supportive." —KBK, GMA News
