Pinoys abroad with COVID-19 breaches 800 mark with 88 new cases - DFA


Eighty-eight more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the highest increase since the end of March, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 837 among overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) living across the Asia Pacific Region, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East or Africa.

The DFA also recorded eight new recoveries from the Americas and three more deaths from the same region and the Middle East, bringing the tally to 248 and 106, respectively.

 

 

According to data from the DFA, there are 160 recoveries, 111 patients undergoing treatment, and one fatality in the Asia Pacific Region.

In the Middle East or Africa, recoveries remained at four while patients undergoing treatment increased to 141 and fatalities to seven.

There were no additional cases recorded in Europe with recoveries remaining at 22 and fatalities at 33 while patients undergoing treatment were reduced to 181.

In the Americas, recoveries and fatalities increased to 62 and 65, respectively, while patients undergoing treatment climbed to 50. -- BAP, GMA News
