121 more Pinoys abroad catch COVID-19; total cases at 23,277 –DFA


Total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad reached 23,277, with 121 new infections, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.

In its figures posted on Twitter, the DFA said 8,425 Filipinos are still undergoing treatment due to the disease.

Moreover, DFA reported that 74 more patients recovered from the respiratory illness, bringing the total recoveries among Filipinos overseas to 13,465.

However, two more Filipinos died due to COVID-19, raising the fatality tally to 1,387.

With no new cases reported among Filipinos in Europe, total COVID-19 cases remained at 3,561 which includes 2,562 recoveries, 959 active cases, and 130 deaths.

In the Americas, total confirmed cases among Filipinos stood at 1,036 cases with 128 active infections, 660 recoveries, and 248 deaths.

Total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos staying in the Asia Pacific Region was at 5,489, including 3,633 recoveries, 83 deaths, and 1,773 active infections.

In the Middle East and Africa, it recorded 13,101 total COVID-19 cases, with 926 fatalities, 5,565 active cases, and 6,610 recoveries. — DVM, GMA News
