Four more lucky people may get to meet Pope Francis during his visit to the Philippines from Jan. 15 to 19.

These are the winners of the Philippine Postal Corp.'s “Papal Visit Stamp” on-the-spot design competition, who will also get P15,000 each as cash prize.

An article posted Saturday on the Papal Visit website identified the four winners as:

- Dave Arjay Tan, Salvador Bañares (professional category)
- Bryan Michael Bunag, Mark Leo Maac (student category)

PHLPost said Tan and Bañares are from Valenzuela, while both Bunag and Maac are from Bulacan.

"The four postal stamp design winners may have the rare privilege of personally presenting their works to Pope Francis during his visit," the site said.

It added the four will be awarded at The Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila on Nov. 24, Monday.

"Their art works will serve as the official stamp designs for national and international circulation in time for the papal visit in January next year," the Papal Visit website said.

Postmaster-General Josefina dela Cruz also noted these stamps are even more special, "because we are working at having the designs personally presented to His Holiness when he makes the historic visit.”

Dela Cruz said PHLPost held the on-the-spot stamp design contest to let them "show their admiration and love for Pope Francis through their talent in the visual arts.”

She also said PHLPost has seen “very high” demand for pope stamps locally as Filipino papal devotees are growing in number.

Even worldwide, she said the number of stamp collectors who love the pope is also mounting. Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
