While millions of Filipinos can only hope to get a glimpse of Pope Francis in person when he visits the country in January 2015, one Pinoy won't have to beat the crowd to get close. Noli Yamsuan will have the chance to mingle with the pontiff as the official close-in photographer for the visit.

This is not the first papal event for Yamsuan, according to a report on 24 Oras that aired on Thursday. He was also the official close-in photographer for Pope John Paul II in 1995 when he was in Manila for World Youth Day.

With all the chances to interact with the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, what does the veteran photographer plan to do?

"Magmamano lang ako at saka kung may pagkakataon, siguro magpapa-bless ako para sa aking pamilya... at pa-selfie din," he answered.

The pope is scheduled to make a pastoral visit to the Philippines from January 15 to 19. His itinerary includes celebrating Masses in Manila Cathedral, Luneta, and Tacloban, where he is expected to dine with some Yolanda survivors. Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
