Awards await Bicol cops who helped secure Pope Francis

An awarding ceremony awaits the 1,500 Bicol police personnel who helped secure Pope Francis during his recently concluded five-day visit to the Philippines.

State-run Radyo ng Bayan in Bicol quoted Bicol regional police head Chief Superintendent Victor Deona as saying it is but fitting to recognize their efforts.

In the report posted on Albay Governor Jose Salceda's Facebook page, Deona lauded the police personnel sent to Eastern Visayas for papal security for their dedication and professionalism.

Deona said he is scheduling an awarding ceremony for the police personnel soonest, at their respective provincial police offices.

He added that as of Tuesday, the task force had started returning to Bicol after fulfilling their papal security duties.
