MMDA fetes traffic aides, constables who served at papal visit
The first batch of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic constables and cleanup workers on Wednesday received merit badges for their performance in Pope Francis' recent five-day visit to the Philippines.
MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino pinned the badges on the workers at a ceremony at MMDA headquarters, radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported.
A photo posted by GMA News' Sherrie Ann Torres showed Tolentino joining the awardees in a boodle fight.

GMA News' Torres said 2,600 MMDA personnel received their badges on Wednesday.

These included constables who helped maintain traffic during the pope's visit, and those who cleaned up the venues after the event ends.
On Tuesday, Tolentino said many of these MMDA workers had gotten sick because of fatigue, as many of them had been on duty for the Feast of the Black Nazarene last Jan. 9. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
