The message of Pope Francis to Filipinos is clear: mercy and compassion for the poor and the helpless. As the “People’s Pope”, he has taken society’s most vulnerable in his ministry.
 
Kara David had the privilege to follow Pope Francis on his pastoral trip to Sri Lanka and the Philippines. As a member of the Vatican-Accredited Media Personnel (VAMPs), she witnessed the charisma and humanity of the Catholic Church leader who touched the devout, amid the jubilation and threatening weather.

 
But not all of the billion Catholic followers in the world can have an encounter with the Pope. Lola Petra Lukingan, the oldest inmate of the Correctional Institution for Women will never have the chance to meet and whisper her wish to the Pope. On the visit of Pope Francis, what awaits Lola Petra?
