An exhibit featuring paintings of Pope Francis and his visits to various countries, including his Philippine visit last January, will open in Manila on July 31 to benefit pro-poor projects in Leyte.

The exhibit, "PAPA KIKO Benedizionedel Papa II," will open at 5:30 p.m. July 31 at Barbara's Restaurant in Intramuros, and will run until Aug. 14.

According to organizer Pro-Life Philippines, the exhibit hopes to raise a "substantial sum" for its activities and projects, including the upkeep of the Pope Francis Center in Palo and the Hayag Orphanage in Ormoc City, Leyte.

It noted the collection includes memorable images of the Holy Father’s visit to the Philippines last January.

Pro-Life Philippines said the first “Benedizione” exhibit was held at the Manila Cathedral Basilica from Dec. 31, 2014 till the actual papal visit.

Highlighting it was the unveiling of the Mural of the Five Popes blessed by Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle before the New Year’s Eve mass.

The mural painted by GruppoBiswal artists is now displayed in the Manila Cathedral Basilica sacristy. Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
