The White House welcome ceremony for Pope Francis

Pope Francis arrived at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington D.C. in the early hours of Wednesday morning (Manila time) for his first official visit to the US. He was warmly welcomed to the country by President Barack Obama and his family.

Now, several hours later, the pope is set to meet the president again as he heads to the White House to meet Obama on the South Lawn.

The Vatican will be livestreaming the event, which will start at 9 p.m. Manila time. You can watch it below.



In a few hours (3:45 a.m. Thursday, Manila time), the Pope will go to the Basilica of the National Shrine in Washington D.C. to officiate the canonization of 18th-century Franciscan friar Junipero Serra. — BM, GMA News
