Pope Francis addresses Joint Session of US Congress

On his third day in the US, Pope Francis will visit the Capitol, where he will become the first pontiff ever to address a joint meeting of both houses of the US Congress.

The event is expected to begin at 9:10 p.m. (Manila time), Thursday.

He is expected to touch on several issues that he has championed, including climate change, income inequality, and the Middle East refugee crisis.

After addressing Congress, the Pope is expected to travel to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where he will have lunch with the homeless beneficiaries of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington's free meals program.  — BM, GMA News
