Pope Francis will address the UN General Assembly on Friday, the first time that a Pope will speak at the annual session of the assembly, where all member nations are represented.

According to Radio Vatican, the address is expected to start at around 8:30 on Friday evening (Philippine time).

The Vatican will livestream the event. You can watch it below.

The Pope is in New York City and has presided over vespers — sunset prayers — with priests and the religious at St. Patrick's Cathedral.

According to a Reuters report, Pope Francis is expected to talk to the UN General Assembly to urge countries to help refugees and to give the world's poor and downtrodden more attention.

At an address before the US Congress, the Pope warned against hostility towards immigrants, pointing out that many in the US have immigrant roots.

"Building a nation calls us to recognize that we must constantly relate to others, rejecting a mindset of hostility," he said. — JDS, GMA News
