Charges being readied vs. policeman for cop's killing in QC


A policeman who is said to have fired at a police team checking a warehouse for illegal fireworks in Fairview, Quezon City Thursday may face charges of murder and frustrated murder for the incident.   Quezon City police head Chief Superintendent George Regis said the charges against PO1 Faisal Marmala stemmed from the killing of a policeman and the wounding of another during Thursday's encounter, radio dzBB reported on Friday. killed in Thursday's encounter was PO2 Bernard Quintero, a member of the Quezon City Police District.   Meanwhile, security was tightened for PO2 Jessie Adajar, the policeman wounded in Thursday's encounter . The police are now questioning Marmala, who was taken into custody after the incident. Investigators are also looking into Marmala's alleged links to the illegal fireworks trade after some people claimed that Marmala owns the warehouse where the illegal fireworks were found.   Regis as said Marmala may face administrative sanctions and be dismissed from the service, if the evidence warrants. - VVP, GMA News
