Suspect in Ramgen Revilla murder surrenders to NBI

A suspect tagged as a missing link in the brutal murder of actor-model Ramgen Revilla last October surfaced early Tuesday, presenting himself to the National Bureau of Investigation.

Ryan Pastera was accompanied by his lawyer in going to the NBI's Special Investigation Division under lawyer Edmundo Arugay, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported.

However, Pastera declined requests for an interview even as his lawyer said he was there to clear his name. The dzBB report said Pastera has sent feelers earlier to the NBI.

Last week, police gave Pastera, one of the accused in the fatal shooting and stabbing of Revilla and the wounding of his girlfriend Janelle Manahan in Parañaque City last October 28 one week to surrender before they put him on the "most wanted" list.

Parañaque Judge Fortunito Madrona had issued a warrant for his arrest.

The police had not been able to arrest Pastera when they went to his house in Las Piñas earlier.

Pastera was tagged as the middleman tasked to look for hired gunmen to kill Ramgen.

Ramgen, son of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. and Genelyn Magsaysay, was killed in his house by a lone assailant who also shot Manahan.

Charged for the murder of Ramgen is his brother, Ramon Joseph “RJ” Bautista, Roy Francis Tolisora and Michael Jay Nartea. They are also facing charges of frustrated murder of Manahan.

The three pleaded not guilty to the said charges last Jan. 17.

A warrant of arrest has also been issued against Ramgen’s sister Ramona Bautista, who has fled the country, as well as Pastera, Glaiza Vista and Norwin Dela Cruz.

Gail Bautista, another sister of Ramgen, has also been implicated in the murder but she has denied any involvement in it. –KG, GMA News
