First global iOS Jailbreak convention set for Sept

Jailbreakers of devices running Apple Inc.'s iOS will hold their first global iCommunity and Jailbreak convention in London this September. The event, dubbed "MyGreatFest," will be held at the Old Truman Brewery in London, according to their website, MyGreatFest.net. But the organizers also stressed that they want to show jailbreaking "does not stand for piracy." "Our mission is to become the largest jailbreak/(i)community convention for coders, themers, hackers, developers or any other mobile device user. To leave others with the better understanding of what jailbreaking actually means to us, and that it does not stand for piracy," they said in their mission statement. "We aim to build upon a community that we believe to be thebest there is. So please, tell the world our mission. MyGreatFest, for the community, by the community," they added. According to them, MyGreatFest will teach them how to use their devices and how to get the best out of their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. But they said the ways to be explored in efficiently using their devices will include both Jailbreaking and App Usage. An article on PC Magazine noted that the timing of MGF in September may coincide with the fall release of Apple's iOS 5, but added it is unclear if iOS 5 will debut before MGF. — TJD, GMA News
