After nearly a full day of severe rain, weather service PAGASA terminated all Heavy Rainfall Warnings early Sunday morning.

In a 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA reported that only light to moderate rain could be observed over Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bulacan in the past hour.

The weather service also projected that, in the next hour or two, light to moderate with occasional heavy rain could be expected over the following areas and surrounding localities:

  • Batangas (Lian, Tuy, Balayan, Nasugbu, Calaca, Laurel);
  • Cavite (Magallanes, Alfonso, Mendez, Gen. Emilio, Indang, Tagaytay); and
  • Zambales  (Cabangan, Botolan, Olongapo, Subic).

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rain could also be expected over Metro Manila and Bataan within the next one to two hours.

The inclement conditions across Luzon was due to the southwest monsoon, which was enhanced by Tropical Storm Yagi (formerly Tropical Storm Karding).
