Student project helps disabled kitten walk

Thanks to a robotics club at a high school in Colorado, life couldn't get any more purr-fect for this disabled kitten.

 

With help from students at Conifer High School, Flipper, a cat with a twisted spine, can try to walk and do other things other cats do, tech site Mashable reported.

 

"The students created a harness that allowed Flipper's hind legs to stay erect, giving the cat a chance to strut around the clinic as she pleases," it said.

 

A video of the device in action was posted on YouTube.

 

Mashable said Flipper was born with a condition that does not allow her back end to walk on the same plane as her front.

 

She was about to be put to sleep at Aspen Park Vet Hospital in Conifer, when the Blitz Robotic Club intervened.

 

"The device will (hopefully) strengthen Flipper's legs enough that she can walk around on her own," Mashable said.  — ELR, GMA News
