Take a look at NASA's real-life Starship Enterprise

Appropriately dubbed the IXS Enterprise (IXS-110), this could be the closest we could get to having a real-life "Star Trek"-type ship that uses warp drive to zip through interstellar space.

NASA physicist Harold White has collaborated with artist Mark Rademaker to create a design of the would-be ship, according to tech site io9.com.

"Rademaker worked with White to create the updated model, which includes a sleek ship nestled at the center of two enormous rings, which create the warp bubble," io9 said.

The site also said that White and his team have been working on designing a faster-than-light ship for several years now.

One of their goals has been to develop a ship that could feasibly travel interstellar differences, and was also aesthetically pleasing.

"The IXS Enterprise is a theory fitting concept for a Faster Than Light ship. It's designed for/with NASA scientist Dr. Harold White and used in his presentations as an extra. Mike Okuda also brought input, and designed the Ship's insignia," Rademaker said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
