'Frozen' characters Anna and Kristoff also to appear in 'Once Upon A Time'

Disney’s “Frozen” is huge. So huge, in fact, that we’ve not only seen an avalanche of related merchandise from video games to costumes, we’ve also witnessed parents fighting each other over the dwindling supplies of dolls based on the hit movie.

Not wasting the property’s potential to draw in thousands upon thousands of viewers, it was previously revealed that Frozen ice queen Elsa is going to be a major character in the fourth season of ABC’s live action fairytale drama, “Once Upon a Time”.

Now reports are coming in that Elsa’s royal sister, Anna, will be making an appearance in the show as well. And to further whet your appetite for all things “Frozen”, it seems Anna’s hunky ice-cutting beau, Kristoff, will also be joining the show’s growing cast.

According to show creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, casting is already underway for all three characters. Whoever played Elsa in the season 3 finale will be replaced – which is sort of a shame, since she got the character’s fabulously sexy hip sway down pat.

Picking up where they left off

TVLine’s (http://tvline.com/2014/06/07/once-upon-a-time-season-4-casting-frozen-elsa-anna-kristoff/) character breakdowns seem to suggest that the Elsa’s, Anna’s, and Kristoff’s adventures in “Once Upon a Time” will take place some time after the events of “Frozen”.

It describes Elsa, the Queen of Arendelle, as a beautiful, conflicted woman in her late 20s or early 30s. Although she has already discovered that the key to keeping her magic under control is the bond of love with her sister, she still fears what would happen were she to lose control of those powers again.

Anna is of course Elsa’s devoted, younger sister. As a counterbalance to Elsa’s brooding, Anna is cheerful, fun-loving, and optimistic. She “often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit.”

Kristoff is depicted as someone with a “sometimes-gruff demeanor”, but who is also deeply in love with Anna. When he is first introduced in “Once Upon a Time”, we will see him adjusting to his new life as the lover of a princess. This of course means getting used to having a castle for a home and “sleeping indoors for the first time in his life.”

Reports also claim that Elsa will be appearing in approximately nine episodes, whereas Anna and Kristoff will be featured slightly less frequently that that.

Whether a CGI version of Olaf will make it to television show remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a possibility that ABC will be announcing the actors at the “Once Upon a Time” panel in San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). — TJD, GMA News
