‘I am President’ a fun presidency simulation from Pinoy developer Unlibox

From Unlibox, the Philippine developer behind “Critter Pop!” and “Evergrow,” comes a new mobile title that puts you in the shoes of the commander-in-chief of the world’s most powerful country. 

“I am President” is a satirical presidency simulation game that tasks you, as the president, with deciding the fate of your people. Every day, one of 15 individuals (such as a presidential cabinet member, a celebrity, the head of a terrorist group, or others) will come to you with an issue, which you can resolve by swiping either left or right. Your decision will affect one or more of the four available factors: the nation’s wealth, your approval rating, your country’s security, and your country’s population. Should one of these factors fall to zero, you fail as president and the game ends. Raising one of them to maximum also ends the game. The game has 12 possible endings, a number of them hilarious.

As most decisions can affect a number of factors in sometimes unforeseeable ways, you’ll need to give each issue more than a passing thought. For example, investing in better weapons for the military will increase the nation’s security, but production costs will surely have a negative impact on the economy. And what will building a giant robot lizard do? Certain choices can also leads to special events, which will cause the background to change to reflect your specific choice.

Many scenarios are based on real-life happenings, such as the child who fell into a gorilla pit, Kanye West’s declaration that he wants to run for president in 2020, and the building of Trump’s wall. Others, however, are hilariously made-up, such as visitation by aliens. There are over 150 scenarios, which makes the game immensely replayable.

“I am President” is surprisingly fun, challenging, and even thought-provoking. The gameplay is more strategic than it looks at first glance, as you’ll need to balance the factors in such a way that you get your desired outcome. It’ll also make you laugh – a lot. “I am President” is one of the more entertaining mobile titles out there today, so make sure to give it a spin.
