Overwatch's D.Va joins Heroes of the Storm

“Overwatch” is getting a lot of love in “Heroes of the Storm.” It wasn’t long ago that Blizzard’s hero brawler opened its gates to Lucio and Genji. But now we can also expect to be able to set the Nexus ablaze with South Korean MEKA pilot D.Va.

In “Heroes of the Storm,” D.Va is a highly mobile Ranged Warrior. She retains many of her “Overwatch” skills, but gains two new ones for her Heroics.

Like in “Overwatch,” D.Va in “Heroes of the Storm” has two states: her Mech Mode and Pilot Mode. In the former state, she has access to all her mech abilities, and can move while attacking.

Her Q ability makes use of her mech’s Boosters to zoom around the battlefield. While active, Boosters raises her movement speed, and also allows her to damage and knock aside enemies she comes into contact with.

With her W ability, D.Va creates a Defense Matrix in a field in front of her. Enemy heroes caught in this field deal reduced damage.

Her E ability is Self-Destruct, which has her ejecting from the mech. After 4 seconds, the mech explodes for massive area damage. If D.Va is in Pilot Mode when she uses E, she instead summons another mech to control.

When in Mech Mode, D.Va’s first Heroic, Bunny Hop, makes her Unstoppable, and has her hopping around the battlefield, damaging and slowing down enemies.

Her second Heroic, Big Shot, is only available in Pilot Mode. She fires her gun to deal damage to all enemies in a line.
