Rainy Wednesday across PHL from LPA, monsoon

Occasional heavy rain is expected Wednesday across eastern and southern Luzon, eastern Visayas and northern Mindanao due to a low pressure area (LPA) south of Palawan and the prevailing northeast monsoon. 

The rest of the country is up for cloudy skies with occasional up to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

As of 10 a.m., the LPA was some 80 km west-southwest of Puerto Princesa. The agency warned of heavy rains and thunderstorms in the following areas:

• Bicol
• Palawan
• Quezon
• Aurora

Residents are advised to be wary of possible flashfloods and landslides.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are expected in:

• Metro Manila
• Western Visayas
• Central Visayas
• Negros
• CARAGA
• CALABARZON
• MIMAROPA
