LPA now Tropical Depression Odette


The Low Pressure Area (LPA) has developed into a Tropical Depression and has been named "Odette."

The estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to occasionally heavy within the 300 kilometer-diameter of the Tropical Depression.

The PAGASA has warned that sea travel is risky over the northern seaboards of Northern Luzon.

"Odette" was estimated based on all available data at 925 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph.

The tropical depression was forecast to move west northwest at 26 kph and will be outside the Philippine Area Responsibility on Saturday evening when it is estimated 535 km west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is raised over Cagayan and Isabela.

The Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao, Kalinga and Mountain Province could be placed under TCWS No. 1 onn Thursday morning.

The state weather bureau advised public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued on Thursday morning. — BAP, GMA News
