Paolo maintains strength moving north, out of PAR Sunday morning


Typhoon Paolo has maintained its strength and continues to move in a north northwest direction.

In its 10 a.m. bulletin, weather bureau PAGASA said Paolo continued to pack maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph, as it moves north northwest at 20 kph.

Paolo's eye was located 735 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 450 km diameter of Paolo.

Paolo's outer rainbands will bring scattered moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and Caraga becoming light to moderate rains over the rest of Southern Luzon, of Visayas and of Mindanao.

Residents in these areas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Meanwhile, as of 10:00 a.m., the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated 280 km West of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

This weather system will bring scattered light to moderate with possible occasional heavy rains over Palawan.
