Paolo maintains strength, continues northwest track


Typhoon Paolo continued to move north northwest as it maintains its strength, according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Wednesday afternoon.

In its weather bulletin at 4 p.m., PAGASA spotted the eye of Paolo at 910 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 145 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA warned light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in the areas of Metro Manila, CALABARZON, rest of Visayas and of Mindanao and provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Aurora.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains with thunderstorms is also forecasted in the Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, ARMM and Soccsksargen, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 335 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

PAGASA said this would bring light to moderate with occasionally heavy rains which may cause flooding and landslides in the province.

PAGASA added that localized thunderstorms are affecting the rest of Luzon. —NB, GMA News
