Typhoon Paolo maintains strength and slightly slows down


The eye of Typhoon Paolo was located at 895 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte, the state weather bureau reported in its early Thursday morning forecast.

Paolo, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph, is moving north northwest at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 185 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.

With these weather systems, Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and ARMM will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms.

The Bicol region, the rest of Mindanao, the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The province of Palawan will be cloudy with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Coastal waters in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. — BAP, GMA News
