Typhoon Paolo now east of Cagayan


The eye of Typhoon Paolo was at 870 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, the state weather bureau PAGASA reported in its early Friday forecast.

Paolo has maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 160 kph and moving north northwest direction at 15 kph.

A Low Pressure Area (LPA), meanwhile, was estimated at 135 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan.

With these weather systems, Visayas, Bicol region, MIMAROPA, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila, the rest of Mindanao, Central Luzon, and the CALABARZON region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The rest of Luzon, due to localized thunderstorms, will have partly clooudy to cloudy skies, isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Wind and coastal water conditions in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. — BAP, GMA News
