Paolo slightly changes course as it picks up speed


Typhoon Paolo has picked up speed and slightly changed its course and is now moving in a north northeast direction.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, Paolo was last spotted 860 km East of Basco, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

Previoulsy moving north northwest, Paolo is now forecast to move north northeast at 16 kph.

Paolo is still expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility. No tropical cyclone warning signal has been raised.

Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) — expected to merge with Paolo — was estimated 105 km south of San Jose, Occidental. — MDM, GMA News
