PAGASA: Longer days to come after Vernal Equinox

The coming Vernal Equinox on Wednesday will mark the change in the length of days and nights.

Vernal Equinox happens when the sun reaches the First Point of Aries, one of the two points in the sky where the ecliptic and the celestial equator meet, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.

The Sun will reach this point on March 21 at 12:15 a.m. This will mark the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Once this happens, it is expected that the length of the day will be as long as the night.

Then, as days passed by, people will notice that daytime will be longer compared to nighttime.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said easterlies will continue to affect the eastern section of the country.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms. — BAP, GMA News
