ALL RED RAINFALL ALERTS LOWERED

Yellow Rainfall alert raised over Metro Manila, 7 other areas

Weather service PAGASA reported in an early Saturday morning bulletin that all Red Rainfall alerts had been lowered, though eight areas, including Metro Manila, were under a Yellow alert.

Areas under the Yellow Rainfall alert, which warns of possible intense rain (7.5 to 15 mm/hour) in the next three hours, were Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, Zambalez, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Metro Manila.

Low-lying and river bank sections of all these areas were also warned against possible flooding triggered by the rain.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rain could also be expected over Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Laguna, and Quezon.

The inclement conditions across Luzon was due to the southwest monsoon, which was being enhance by Tropical Storm Yagi (formerly Tropical Storm Karding) which was outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. — DVM, GMA News
