Yellow warning up over Metro Manila, 5 other areas


A heavy rainfall warning remains over several areas in Luzon due to continuous rain caused by the southwest monsoon or Habagat enhanced by Tropical Storm Yagi on Monday.

Yellow Warning Level was raised over Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Lian, Calatagan, Calaca, Lemery, Laurel), Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan by weather bureau PAGASA.

 

The warning, raised at 7:53 a.m., cautions against flood-causing heavy rains or 7.5 to 15mm of rain per hour in affected areas.

In the meantime, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna, Rizal, Northern Quezon, and the rest of Bataan.

A thunderstorm warning was also raised at 7:45 a.m., cautioning against moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms along Calapan, Baco, San Teodoro, Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro in the next two to three hours.
