Scattered rain expected over north, west Luzon areas – PAGASA

The Ilocos and Cordillera Administrative Regions, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan could expect cloudy conditions with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon, weather service PAGASA predicted in a Sunday morning forecast.

The rest of the country could meanwhile expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions accompanied with isolated rainshowers.

Over the rest of the country, winds would be light to moderate from the southwest with slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA also reported that the typhoon with the international name Soulik was near stationary outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, 1,890 kilometer east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon .

Soulik had 145 kilometer per hour sustained winds which could gust up to 180 kph. — DVM, GMA News
