Red rainfall warning level up over Zambales, Bataan

State weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday afternoon raised the red warning level over Zambales and Bataan amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong.

In its 12 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said the red warning level means to take action, as torrential rainfall (more than 30 millimeters per hour) has fallen or is expected to fall.

Severe flooding is expected in these areas, it said.

PAGASA also raised the orange warning level over Bulacan, where flooding is threatening in low-lying areas and near river channels.

This warning level is marked by intense rainfall, with rainfall values of 15 to 30 millimeters per hour.

Yellow warning level meanwhile is up over Metro Manila, Rizal, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Cavite.

Residents in these areas are urged to be alert as flooding is possible in low-lying areas and near river channels.

The warning level is due to heavy rainfall, with 7.5 to 1.5 millimeters per hour of rainfall that is expected to fall and most likely continue for the next three hours.
