TD TO ENTER THE PAR BY THE AFTERNOON

Scattered rain expected across the PHL – PAGASA

With the northeast monsoon the only weather system expected to affect the country on Sunday, PAGASA predicted that the entire archipelago would experience generally fair conditions except for some isolated showers or thunderstorms.

Coastal conditions around Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao would be moderate to rough, with sea conditions along all other coasts expected to be from slight to moderate.

Meanwhile, the tropical depression to the east of Mindanao was still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and still too far away to influence the country's weather.

However, the tropical depression was expected to enter the PAR by Sunday afternoon, at which point it would be named Samuel.

This weather system would then continue heading west and make landfall somewhere between the Visayas and Mindanao by Tuesday. — DVM, GMA News
