Tropical Depression Samuel enters PAR


Tropical Depression Samuel entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility  on Sunday morning, state weather agency PAGSA said.

In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, PAGASA's Jomalia Garrido said that TD Samuel entered PAR at 10 a.m. and is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains that can cause flash floods and landslides in the Caraga region, Davao Oriental, and Compostella Valley.

PAGASA also advised seafarers to avoid sailing in the eastern seaboards of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Samuel was spotted Sunday morning at 980 km east-southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.

It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) that could gust up to  65 kph. It is moving 15 kph on its west-southwest track.
