Parts of Quezon Avenue to be closed for Oct. 14 La Naval procession

Motorists were advised to plan their routes on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, as parts of Quezon Avenue will be closed for the La Naval de Manila grand procession.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Friday said that from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, the portion of Quezon Avenue westbound from the split/tunnel of Araneta Avenue to D. Tuazon Avenue will be closed to traffic.

Some 30,000 devotees are expected to take part in the procession.

The image of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary will be taken in a procession from the Sto. Domingo Church and will exit the gate facing east.

From there, the procession will turn left on Sto. Domingo Street, left on Dapitan Street, left on D. Tuazon Street, left on Quezon Avenue (counterflow using westbound lane), then back to Sto. Domingo Church.

The MMDA said motorists may take any of the following alternate routes:

From Quezon Avenue westbound:

  1. Turn left on Araneta Avenue, then turn right on E. Rodriguez Blvd. to Welcome Rotonda and destination
  2. Turn right on Araneta Avenue, left on Maria Clara Street, then left on Mayon Street to Welcome Rotonda and destination
  3. Turn right on Araneta Avenue, left on Amoranto Sr. Street, then left on Mayon Street to destination.

The eastbound lane of Quezon Avenue will not be affected by the procession, the MMDA said. —KG, GMA News
