Rachelle Ann Go bags Best Supporting Actress as 'Miss Saigon' dominates WhatsOnStage awards


Rachelle Ann Go bagged the Best Supporting Actress in a Musical trophy in the 2015 WhatsOnStage Awards for her performance as Gigi Van Tranh in "Miss Saigon."
 
This achievement caps Rachelle's eight-month West End stint as the hardened bar girl in the revival of one of the most well-known musicals in the world.

Rachelle's award was one of nine brought home by the cast and crew of "Miss Saigon." "Miss Saigon" won Best West End Show and Best Revival of a Musical, while lead actors Eva Noblezada and Jon Jon Briones bagged the Best Actress and Best Actor in a Musical awards. 
 
Eva is a Filipino-American performer from North Carolina who is a newcomer to the West End musical stage, while Jon Jon was part of the original West End cast of the 1989 "Miss Saigon" that featured Lea Salonga as Kim.
 
 
 
 


"Miss Saigon" also bagged Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for Kwang-Ho Hong, Best Direction of a Musical for Laurence Connor, Best Design of a Musical for Totie Driver and Matt Kinley, and Best Choreography for Bob Avian and Geoffrey Garratt.
 
Meanwhile, Lea voiced out her admiration and pride for 'Miss Saigon' and for the achievement of the Filipino cast members of the musical's revival.
