Veteran actor Ernie Zarate dies at 77

Veteran actor Ernie Zarate died due to complications of diabetes on Saturday night. He was 77.

His son, sports announcer Noel Zarate, told GMA News Online that his father had kidney failure in 2015 and was undergoing dialysis.

A prolific character actor, Zarate's IMDB page lists more than a hundred films dating back to 1971.

His wake is at Christ the King Parish in Greenmeadows, Quezon City. Interment is on Thursday, September 21. —JST/KVD, GMA News
