Cambodian PM wants to meet Marian Rivera at ASEAN Summit

No less than the Cambodian head of government has requested the presence of Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera at the 31st ASEAN Summit, which will be held from November 11 to 14 in Manila.

During the opening of a Kultura branch in SM Makati, Marian said she couldn't refuse the invitation despite her unfamiliarity with such events.

"We are invited to the state dinner na mag-wewelcome sa Prime Minister ng Cambodia at ng Presidente ng Myanmar on Saturday sa Clark, Pampanga. Excited ako makilala sila dahil ang sabi sa amin ay tinatangkilik nila ang mga shows ko sa GMA, lalu na sa bansang Cambodia," she said.

"Isang privilege na maimbitahan sa ganun to represent the shows na talaga namang proud na proud akong nagawa ko throughout the years," she added.

Marian said that her past soap operas have been aired in Cambodia.

"Pinapalabas ang soap ko dun...pinalabas kasi dun yung Marimar, and Dyesebel, so ngayon ata ay Carmela," she said.

She added that the invitation flattered her despite her apprehension.

"Nakakataba nga ng puso, sabi ko nga nahihiya ako pumunta kasi di naman ako sanay sa ganung klaseng event. Pero bakit naman hindi ko pagbibigyan na makita nila ako," she said.

The list of attending world leaders for the 31st ASEAN Summit has yet to be released.
