Mike de Leon’s post-script on social media spat with Atom Araullo: ‘May we never cross each other’s path again’

On Saturday, director Mike de Leon issued another statement, bidding Atom Araullo goodbye.

“May we never cross each other’s path again, not here, nor in the afterlife. But wait, we both don’t’ believe in that. So never,” de Leon ended his short post-script to a week-long social media drama.

First addressing the Kapuso journalist, the esteemed director said he doesn’t need any help, referring to what Atom said in a statement he posted on Facebook Wednesday.

De Leon then addressed the public: "Stop watching the mike/atom a_hole show and start watching what is happening to this unfortunate country because the forces of darkness and evil are upon us again,” he began.

Then he turned his attention back to Atom and issued a warning: “Your life is still a closed book. Be careful my friend because people are now dying to force it wide open. I wonder why.”

Read it in full below:

It is amusing that you, AA have said a lot of things about my character that I have never tried to hide. I am an open book in the business, my bipolar disorder and fits of rage are showbiz fodder.

But so is my creativity which pretend-artists can never match. so I don't need any help. And besides my career is just about over while yours is just beginning, with a great deal of help from your social media fans, your new network, and your narcissism.

Social media is teeming with people who try to present themselves as morally superior yet they continue to enjoy the spectacle of a good show. To you guys, spare us your moral indignation, stop watching the mike/atom a_hole show and start watching what is happening to this unfortunate country because the forces of darkness and evil are upon us again.

Haven't you heard? Marcos jr is a heartbeat away from the presidency, Imee will advice Bongbong how to do away with Duterte once they don't need him anymore, and Imelda, although ugly and fat now...is still alive.

So our little tiff is so meaningless and should be ignored. But the work we are leaving behind is something apart from us and stands on it own merits. In fact, more people should watch it now because it has become prophetic and more relevant than ever.

And so my only warning to AA as we say goodbye or good riddance to each other is this. Your life is still a closed book. Be careful, my friend, because people are now dying to force it wide open. I wonder why.

Goodbye, atom araullo. I have my film and you have your Marawi/Mcdo/Bakwit commercial. I am confident that both will stand the test of time.

May we never cross each other's path again, not here, nor in the afterlife. Nut wait, we both don't believe in that. so never. - your director and the creator of Citizen Jake, Mike De Leon. btw, get rid of your manager, he's bad news.

On May 25, the director took a swipe on Atom's work as a journalist in a Facebook post that has since been deleted. Atom replied the following Wednesday, and a few hours after later, the director addressed Atom's reply. This last one was published on Saturday. Atom has yet to reply. — LA, GMA News
