Mocha Uson to play journalist in Stephen Baldwin movie about illegal drugs

PCOO Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has announced that she will be starring in the film "Kaibigan" — an inspirational movie tackling the illegal drug problem and its adverse effects on families — which stars Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin.

"Inspirational movie and the movie supports the campaign of President Duterte to protect the youth from illegal drugs...

Uson, via special participation, will play the role of a reporter who will deliver the "good news" of the community.

Uson, who owns the Mocha Uson Blog and a known supporter of President Duterte, said she will be "herself" in the film: "Nakita ko naman na 'yung pinagdaanan nila at ako bilang blogger din naman sa social media, I will just be myself in the movie."

The PCOO official said she will be acting for free.

Uson said she has been discussing the film with its producers — whom she personally knows — for about three to four months now.

"At ako naman ay pumayag sapagkat good news ito dahil positibo ang mensahe ng pelikula at uhaw ang mga Pilipino sa good news."

Uson said she sought the approval of her boss, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar. "Oo yes, nagpaalam ako and sinabi naman ni Sec. Martin, as long as legal ang lahat ay wala naman pong problema."

Uson said the movie is slated to be released in September and would also be screened internationally.
