ON HIS BIRTHDAY

German Moreno Studio unveiled in honor of well-loved Master Showman

The German Moreno Studio was inaugurated on Thursday in honor of the late Master Showman’s contributions to the showbiz industry for almost 40 years.

The new GMA studio was unveiled on the veteran star-builder's 85th birthday, during an event hosted by Kapuso actress Jackie Lou Blanco.

"It's actually his birthday today so this is quite a befitting honor for such a very special person, such a kind person, such a loyal person," Kuya Germs' son, Federico, said.

Federico recalled the Master Showman's tireless dedication to his passion for the entertainment industry, especially in the world of television.

"Ang pahinga niya lang ho Linggo ng gabi, 'yun na ho 'yun. I've witnessed a man who did not just devoted his life for his craft but also with the people he truly loves, which is the people of GMA and the network," Federico said.

"We've all talked about loyalty but for me the most significant part of his life or what he's given to GMA and to the industry is honest to goodness love. It's really love," Federico added.

Federico also expressed gratitude to GMA Network for the honor it bestowed on his beloved father, saying that the older Moreno was well-loved by his colleagues.

"I'm sure he is here, he's very very happy because in his wildest dreams he would never expect this because he never expected anything back. I was a witness and my family was a witness to how much you love him," he said.

GMA Network Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Attorney Felipe L. Gozon underscored that the launch of the studio was a way to remind the public about the good qualities of Moreno as he praised the late television host's loyalty and dedication toward his profession.

"This could be a reminder to everybody, these good traits will be emulated. This is very fitting for German Moreno to be named... this studio for him. Walang kapantay ang loyalty at dedication ni Kuya Germs," Gozon said.

Also in attendance during the event were President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, and Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth G. Rasonable.

Actors Jestoni Alarcon, Sheryl Cruz, Sanya Lopez, Jake Vargas, Gloria Romero, Jak Roberto and Tina Paner also graced the inauguration of the studio. — MDM, GMA News
