Pauleen Luna: Learning from the best

We see her everyday via our favorite noontime show Eat Bulaga. She literally bloomed before our eyes and has improved since she started her hosting stint. Now that she is a mainstay in the show, we ask Pauleen Luna who among her Eat Bulaga dabarkads does she consider as her mentor. Pauleen Luna started her showbiz career in Eat Bulaga when she joined Little Miss Philippines in 1995. She was seven years old then. Now that she is 19, Pauleen is one of the mainstay hosts of the longest running noontime show in the country; quite an accomplishment for such a young lady. Working at Bulaga Pauleen admits that she is having the time of her life on Eat Bulaga. Enjoying every minute she spends with her dabarkads, she has quite a few anecdotes about the legendary comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey. “Si Tito Sen, he is like a father to me. Nakakapagshare ka sa kanya ng mga bagay-bagay, at the same time he shares about Ate Ciara and how much he misses her," shares Pauleen about Tito Sotto. As for the younger Sotto, Pauleen has this to say about Bossing Vic. “Si Bossing kasi ‘yun ‘yung pangasar eh. Mahilig mangasar, sobra! Talagang super pilyo talaga sa grupo." As for the multi-talented Joey de Leon, Pauleen has a touching story to tell. “Si Tito Joey on my first day in Eat Bulaga, he really made me feel welcome, he hugged me. First day ha! ‘Di niya ako kilala. He really hugged me. Sabi niya ‘Welcome.’ And Si Tito Joey, kung may mangaway sa iyo, aawayin din niya talaga." Honored to be working with these entertainment legends, Pauleen counts herself lucky that she is working with them and that she is a part of the Eat Bulaga dabarkads. Honing her hosting skills Pauleen’s first love is acting but being busy with her hosting stint six days a week, this young actress admits that she has learned to love and value the craft of hosting. “I didn't know how to host before and because of the experience in Eat Bulaga, sobrang natuto talaga ako," says Pauleen rather proudly. She says that her number one mentor is Pia Guanio, who aside from being her co-host in Eat Bulaga, is also one of the hosts of two other Kapuso programs – 24 Oras and Showbiz Central>. “Si Ate Pia nagbibigay siya talaga ng comments kapag okay yung pace ko, she’ll tell me ‘Huy, good job’. Tapos kapag medyo hindi, she will tell me na ‘O, work on this, work on that’. Nakakatuwa talaga. And plus si Ate Pia kasi makikita mo yung versatility niya as a host. She can be a host for the 24 Oras and a host for Eat Bulaga." Truly Pauleen is lucky to have found not only a group of friends but also icons in the business who are more than willing to impart what they have learned in the years that they’ve spent in show business. A generous group of people, their kindness extends to their loyal Kapuso viewers. “Sa mga Eat Bulaga dabarkads namin na palaging nanonood, maraming salamat po! Keep joining 'yung mga contests namin because ang gusto talaga namin is to make people happy and to help other people," were Pauleen’s parting words. - iGMA.tv
