PEP: GMA's Rosalinda starts climb in ratings

MANILA, Philippines – After its soft debut at No. 6 last Monday, July 6, GMA's newest primetime series Rosalinda, starring Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, is beginning to show what it is truly capable of: dominating the ratings game. From its debut performance of 26.3 percent, Rosalinda generated a 28.9 percent rating the next two nights – July 7 (Tuesday) and July 8 (Wednesday) – to move to third place. Last night, July 9 (Thursday), its rating rose to 31.9 percent and climbed up again to No. 2. This data is based on the latest overnight ratings of AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households. Meanwhile, Richard Gutierrez's action-fantaserye Zorro consistently held the No. 1 spot in the primetime race, while three different shows took the runner-up slot: 24 Oras last Tuesday, Tayong Dalawa last Wednesday, and Rosalinda on Thursday night. Trailing behind are ABS-CBN's Only You, May Bukas Pa, TV Patrol World, and Boys Over Flowers; and GMA's Adik Sa 'Yo and All My Life. The daytime race is still ruled by the country's longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga!, which posted a lead as high as 7 percent to its nearest competitor.
