Charice a hot item among foreign magazines
Filipino international singing sensation Charice Pempengco will be gracing the pages of well known foreign magazines, including a possible cover appearance in Teen Vogue. Charice, 18, who Oprah Winfrey once described as âthe most talented girl in the world," left the Philippines for New York Monday to, among others, attend meetings with magazine representatives. âMagkakaroon na ng mga pictorial para sa magazine, isa nga po dun yung Teen Vogue. Mayroon ding meetings with People Magazine, Rolling Stone and Billboard," she said in an interview at the airport before her departure. (Weâll have pictorials for magazines, and one of them is Teen Vogue. Weâll also have meetings with People Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Billboard.) According to a Chika Minute report on Mondayâs â24 Oras" news program, Charice will only stay in New York for two days, after which she will embark on an Asian tour to promote her latest single, âPyramid." She will also return to the South Korean talent show âStar King" where she once performed. It was through her performance in âStar King," which was later uploaded on the file-sharing site YouTube, that she was discovered by Oprah and talk show host Ellen Degeneres. âDoon po ako na-discover ni Miss Ellen at ni Miss Oprah (Thatâs where I was discovered by Miss Ellen and Miss Oprah)," Charice said, referring to Star King. Charice, the first Asian to make it to Billboardâs Top 10 album chart, was last seen singing the Philippine national anthem âLupang Hinirang" on President Benigno âNoynoy" Aquino IIIâs inauguration. Charice has released two platinum albums and has appeared in âAlvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel." She is also set to join the cast of popular television musical series âGlee" and go with the David Foster and Friends International Tour, which will have a show in the Philippines sometime in October. â KBK/RSJ, GMANews.TV
