GMA, QTV bag 5 Catholic Mass Media Awards


Five awards went to GMA Network and sister station QTV at the 28th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), held at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater in Makati on Friday. Among the winners are Jolina Magdangal for Public Service to the Youth, Imbestigador as Best Public Service Program, Mahiwagang Baul as Best Children's Program, QTV's Fam Jam as Best Entertainment Progam, and 24 Oras as Best News Program. The CMMA, which is composed of bishops, is considered as one of the most credible awards giving bodies in the Philippines. The CMMA chairman is Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was guest of honor, took the opportunity to urge the Melo Commission, which she created, to speed up its probe of the extrajudicial killings that have been plaguing her administration. - GMANews.TV
