Cops probe burglary at singer Freddie Aguilar's home

Police are now investigating a burglary at the Quezon City home of singer Ferdinand "Freddie" Aguilar. Around $12,000 (P506,160) was taken from a vault inside Aguilar’s North Fairview house.

Aguilar told police he discovered the loss Sunday when he was about to take it out of the master bedroom vault in order to deposit it, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported.

Aguilar told police investigators he last counted the money last Aug. 20, but did not notice anything unusual until Sunday.

The report also said that the Quezon City Police District Station 5 could not find any sign of forced entry into the bedroom, raising the possibility of an “inside job.”

However, the Police are not discounting the possibility Aguilar may have failed to securely lock the vault, the report added.

For now, the QCPD sent a Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) team to Aguilar's house to lift fingerprints from the master bedroom.

They would then compare it with fingerprint samples taken from members of Aguilar's household.
