Susan Roces, Grace Poe commemorate FPJ’s 13th death anniversary

The family and friends of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. on Thursday morning commemorated his 13th death anniversary at the Manila North Cemetery.

Poe's daughter, Senator Grace Poe, and wife, actress Susan Roces led the simple rites which started with a Mass and followed by a gift-giving activity in the spirit of Christmas.

Ronald Allan Kelley Poe, who was known to fans as Fernando Poe Jr. or FPJ, was hailed as "Da King" or "King of Philippine Movies" for his long career as an action star.

Poe ran for president in the 2004 elections, but lost by a close margin to former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The actor died after suffering a stroke on December 14 of the same year, at the age of 65. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
