Marian Rivera appears on two MMFF movies

Marian Rivera is extremely busy these days and it seems she has no intentions of slowing down. In two movies set to be released this Christmas, she gets to rub elbows with some of the industry’s biggest stars! Out of the nine entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, Marian Rivera will be appearing in two. She’s one of the lead actors in Desperadas and is part of the supporting cast in Bahay Kubo. Given such opportunities, her heart could only overflow with happiness. Not so desperate Desperadas went through its rough patches as it searched for a cast that could commit to the project. But the film certainly gained ground when they took Marian in for a role that seems to be tailor-fit for the actress! “Sobra kong ine-enjoy ang Desperadas kasi personality ko," Marian shares, adding that her character, who is a fashion designer, is just as kalog and loud as her. “Kikay (rin), so nakakaaliw." The cast only had one day per week to shoot the movie, and their taping days sped by so fast because the main actresses enjoy each other’s company. Marian gushes that Ruffa Gutierrez and Iza Calzado treated her nicely, while Rufa Mae Quinto is her usual friendly self at the set. But Marian admits that of all her co-stars, she feels closest to veteran comedienne Nova Villa, who seems to have taken her under wing, giving her advice and the occasional gossip. “(Kapag) magkadikit kaming dalawa, chikahan kami!" House of acting While Desperadas presents the life stories of four different women, Bahay Kubo revolves around the life of a mother and her house full of adopted children. Here, Marian joins no other than Maricel Soriano. “Hindi ko ine-expect na sobrang bait niya sa akin," Marian gushes. She excitedly recalls an incident involving a long monologue that the Diamond Star herself thought of reducing into a line to make it more effective. Determined to further improve her acting skills, the young actress stresses, “Hindi ako takot magtanong kung ano ang dapat kong gawin. Nagiging honest ako sa sarili ko. Willing akong matuto. Mas gusto ko ‘yung tinuturuan ako," Marian ends. And it does show in the hit TV series MariMar, how much Marian has grown as an actress. Desperadas and Bahay Kubo are part of the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival to be held from the 25th of December until the first week of January. - iGMA.tv
