Sexy actors lead Magdusa Ka

GMA’s Sine Novela is now on its 8th season. Continuing the mission of providing primetime quality in the Dramarama block, GMA now gives us Pablo Gomez’ masterpiece - Magdusa Ka. With controversial artists playing the lead roles, the press launch of the show was warmly welcomed by the press people. All eyes were on the three lead characters when they made a grand entrance during the press conference of Pablo Gomez’ Magdusa Ka last May 6 at Plaza Ibarra, Timog Ave., Quezon City. Katrina Halili looked sexy and sophisticated in her red ensemble while Iwa Moto wowed the audience with her voluptuous figure. But everybody welcomed the new look of Dennis Trillo who was ruggedly handsome in his smart casual outfit. The controversial trio Pablo Gomez’ Magdusa Ka is Katrina Halili’s first lead role. Typecast as an effective female villain, she implored the network for a different role after her successful portrayal of Angelika, Marimar’s archrival. Many of the media people who attended the launch were eager to hear what Katrina has to say about her first non-kontrabida role. "Alam po ng GMA, dahil sinabi ko na after po ng MariMar, ayoko munang tumanggap ng [role na] kontrabida. Gusto ko lang talaga na bilang artista, may maipakita rin akong ibang talent at hindi lang yung puro pagmamaldita, ‘di ba?" said Katrina during her interviews at the press conference. Meanwhile, Iwa Moto welcomed Katrina’s semi-retirement from doing the kontrabida roles. “Masaya po ako at may trabaho ako," says the young actress, who was tagged by the press as heiress to Katrina’s kontrabida throne. Dennis on the other hand will evolve from a boy-next-door image to a tough, street-smart, ladies man. “Kasi ever since naman na pumasok ako rito sa show business, wala naman akong balak na maging superstar. In fact, yung una ko ngang pelikula, hindi nga ‘yon pang-heartthrob. Basta binibigyan kami ng trabaho at nagagampanan namin nang maayos, masaya na talaga ako sa bagay na ‘yon," explained Dennis who will portray the character of Rod, which was portrayed in the film by Christopher de Leon.
